Pranayama is the study and practice of controlling and manipulating one's breath. Breathing is the initial and final action of life. Indeed, our entire survival on Earth is contingent upon our ability to breathe. Regrettably, a significant majority of us currently lack the knowledge and understanding required to perform it appropriately.'Prana' refers to the vital energy that exists within each individual, while 'ayama' is a Sanskrit term that signifies the act of regulating or managing this energy. Therefore, Pranayama refers to the act of regulating the life force or vital energy that exists within us.Respiration is the tangible expression of this underlying subtle energy. Therefore, in order to exert control over the prana, it is imperative to commence with regulating our breath.

'Mudam raati dadati iti 'Mudra'.' - that which gives happiness. And this happiness reflects in the consciousness.Unfortunately today the word Mudra is instantly equated to 'Hastha Mudras' or Hand gestures, which is not a part of Hatha yoga, but is a part of Tantra shastras. In Hatha yoga, Mudra refers to Psychic gestures, which enable the practitioner to reach closer to the goal of awakening the Kundalini energy. In all there are 10 mudras elaborated in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, one of the most important literature available on Hatha yoga today. These Mudras should be carefully practiced only under the guidance of a competent guru for it to reap fruit.Join us for an enlightening workshop by Acharya Bala, our founder and anexperienced yoga practitioner, as he explains 'Mudra' from the hatha yogic viewpoint, to better understand their role in spiritual enhancement and advancement

Swara refers to the scientific study of breath.The human body is not merely composed of flesh and bones; it is imbued with enigmatic phenomena that are beyond ordinary comprehension. One intriguing phenomenon is the nasal cycle, often known as Swara.

The contents of the universe are also present within our bodies. Within the universe, there exist two contrasting energies emanating from the sun and the moon. Likewise, these energies are also inherent within our physical being. The right nostril is linked to the subtle energy pathway known as pingala, which is associated with the thermogenic properties of the sun. The left nostril is linked to the ida, a subtle energy channel related with the cooling principle and the moon.
