About  Haá¹ha Vidyã

"Haá¹ha Vidyã"  translates  to  the  knowledge  of Yoga.  In  Sanskrit,  the  term  'Hatha'  consists  of  two  syllables:  'ha'  symbolizes  the  sun  or  vital  energy,  while  'tha'  signifies  the  moon,  representing  mental  energy.  Practicing  Haá¹ha Vidyã  synchronizes  two  energy  flows,  resulting  in  a  balanced  mental  state.

Haá¹ha Vidyã  is  the  most  authentic  and  traditional  type  of  Yoga.  Improving  one's  psycho-physiological  state  is  the initial step  towards  achieving  overall  well-being.  Haá¹ha Vidyã  enables  individuals  to  regulate  their  minds  by  focusing  on  the  body.

The  body  is  prepared  for  advanced  Pranayama  practice  by  starting  with  simple  postures  and  undergoing  a  comprehensive  cleansing  process  known  as  Shad  Karma  Kriyas.  The  practitioner  is  ready  to  explore  Nadaanusandhan,  a  practice  of  seeking  inner  and  external  sounds,  after  using  Mudras  (symbolic gestures)  and  Bandhas  (binding  actions  involving  pressure  or  contraction).

The origin of Haá¹ha Vidyã Yoga Center dates back to 2008 when Haá¹ha Vidyã Gurukulum was established in Kerala, India. Thapobhoomi, a residential Yoga center, was later established in 2009 on the banks of the Gayathri River in Kerala.

Thapobhoomi

Thapobhoomi

A true location from which one can obtain the authentic experience of Yoga by means of mental and physical purification, Thapobhoomi derives its name from the words thapas (penance) and bhoomi (land). The utmost level of mental and physical bliss is attained through the practice of such yogic techniques. This purification procedure has been completed on the sacred ground of Pazhayannur, situated along the banks of the "Gayathri River" in Thrissur, Kerala. "Thapobhoomi" is therefore an appropriate appellation for this haven of tranquility and calm. Scholars assert that Muneeshvaran, a Shaivite ascetic, attained enlightenment through meditation on this land many years ago. Folklore in the village of Pazhayannur recounts his mystic exploits. Following this great Sage's departure, it lapsed into obsolescence and was subsequently appropriated by Mother Nature.
