Post Natal Yoga

For a new mother, the post partum period and the subsequent months are very delicate and challenging. The whole journey of bearing a child for 9 months along with the act of delivering the baby, puts a lot of stress not only physically but also emotionally and mentally. The erratic sleep patterns and the new role of a 24*7 care giver to a new born, with an already weakened body can get extremely exhausting and draining.

post natal yoga

It is at such a time that there is a need for proper and authentic guidance to not only be able to heal the body slowly yet steadily, but also to pacify the mind; so that the immense responsibility of raising a child while taking good care of one's ownself, can be dealt with in the best possible manner.

At Hatha Vidya we offer curated practices specifically designed for the needs of a new mother, who's body has just undergone the rigors of pregnancy and delivery. This includes gentle stretches to relax the stiff muscles from handling a newborn 24*7 and light energising techniques for removing the set in fatigue, along with light strengthening exercises specifically for the weakened core and pelvic muscles due to carrying the foetus and the delivery process. This in turn is coupled with basic breathing and relaxation and meditation techniques to calm the mind and body and bring a certain synergy in the being.

And it is important that all this is taught under the guidance of experienced teachers like it is done at our centre. This is because the correct practices will go a long way in aiding and speeding the healing process, but anything done in haste or wrongly can have an adverse effect on the health of the new mother and thereby affect the child too.
